Breast cancer is a subject that is very close to my heart. I re-trained as a Medical Tattooist after being inspired by one of my lovely friends who had breast cancer.
In addition to the treatments I offer, I also work for Look Good Feel Better cancer charity. I have a lot of wonderful connections that also support cancer patients, so please get in touch if you would like any advice or guidance. You will find information about some of the wonderful people and business' I recommend in my Blog and News posts.
I feel very privileged to be part of the incredible work we do.
Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is the ONLY international cancer support charity, providing practical and very effective free services for women and teenagers struggling with the visible side effects of cancer treatment.
I volunteered as a makeup up artist for around 2 years at Guildford and Reading workshops, as I really wanted to support ladies going through cancer treatment in a positive way. At the Reading workshops, I realised that there were a lot of ladies travelling from the Basingstoke area, as this was their nearest location. It really is quite a trek, particularly if you are in the middle of treatment. So I fought for a year to get the workshops into Basingstoke Hospital and was delighted to finally launch in Basingstoke in November 2018, where I am now the Regional Coordinator.
EXCITING NEWS: As of August 2019 we will be holding workshops at Winchester hospital, where I will also be Regional Coordinator.
I love running these sessions! Attendees are gifted gorgeous beauty bags, which have products that have been donated from the leading beauty houses. At the workshop, I take everyone through a fun two hours of using all the products in our 12 step program. Whilst the workshops are a great source of information, the real joy is seeing how everyone's confidence grows and the new friendships that blossom.
At the time of writing, I'd like to share this with you; I ran a workshop last night and when I left, 4 of the ladies were sat in the waiting area having a coffee together, laughing and swapping telephone numbers.....THAT's the real beauty and benefit of the workshops.
We are in over 150 hospitals nationwide now, with new locations popping up all the time. For further information please click here http://www.lookgoodfeelbetter.co.uk/workshops-and-advice
